Personal Risk Insurance Advice

What would happen if catastrophe suddenly struck and you and your family were left without an income? While many of us seldom to think of it, an unexpected illness, injury or worse can strike at any time potentially leaving you or your family in financially dire straits. Having a backup plan in the form of personal risk insurance can help protect your family against financial adversity when they need it most.

While personal risk insurance can’t prevent unforeseen events, it can help to alleviate some of the financial stress during what is already an emotionally upsetting time and reduce a great deal of pressure for those around you.

At Crothers & Associates, ensuring that our clients have the right insurance is one of our primary concerns. We understand there can be some confusion around insurance, especially when it comes to the complexity around policy inclusions and exclusions, so we’ll help you to choose the right level of insurance for your needs based on a thorough assessment of the products available and an understanding of your situation and requirements.

It’s a service that can save you both time and money.

Investment Advice-Wealth Creation

One of the myths when it comes to investing is that you have to have a large amount of money to begin with.

However this isn’t the case. The key to successful investing is “time in the market” not “timing the market.” In other words, steady, regular investing is more likely to reap rewards than attempting to invest sporadically when you think markets may be about to rise.

While the share market can be subject to its ups and downs, investing still remains one of the most effective ways to grow your wealth over time.

If you’re thinking of ways to set yourself up financially, educating yourself about investing and the different types of investment options is a great way to start. However investing isn’t without risk, so when you’re ready to get started it’s a good idea to seek some professional advice.

Creating wealth is not something that happens overnight- unless you win Powerball! Which isn’t something we can realistically rely on for our future financial security.

Instead, real financial security involves careful planning with the professional guidance of a qualified financial adviser. At Crothers & Associates, we help people from all walks of life to plan for and enjoy a secure financial future.

Our approach involves gaining a thorough understanding of your goals and objectives, and then working closely with you we’ll develop an investment strategy that’s designed to make your goals and ambitions for the future become a reality.

Corporate Superannuation Advice

The complexities of handling superannuation for your employees can be challenging and is usually best managed by an external body. We know that many business owners are incredibly busy and often unaware of the intricacies of the corporate superannuation environment.

Superannuation Advice

Living comfortably in your retirement years is something we all aspire to, all it takes is some careful planning prior to retirement for you to reap the benefits of your hard-work and perseverance. Thinking about retirement at a young age may seem premature, however the sooner you start to build your retirement nest egg the better.

In addition to the contributions made by your employer into your superannuation fund, there are a number of other strategies available that can help you to grow your superannuation savings further. Choosing the strategy that’s right for you will depend on a number of factors including your age, income, relationship status and desired retirement age.

The Federal Government provides a range of taxation incentives to encourage Australians to save for their retirement using the superannuation environment so you could potentially boost your super savings and pay less tax at the same time.

Self Managed Superannuation Funds

Self Managed Superannuation Funds or SMSFs, continue to attract a wide range of interest as they generally offer greater flexibility and control over investment choice than traditional retail or industry funds, however an SMSF is not without risk.

Setting up and running an SMSF requires a degree of financial acumen and carries significant compliance and reporting obligations that many investors may find time-consuming and onerous.

At Crothers & Associates we can assess your particular situation and help to develop a superannuation strategy that’s right for you.

Centrelink Advice

Many Australians will come to rely on a full or part Age Pension to supplement or fund their living expenses in retirement. With Australia’s ageing population and increasing longevity, there’s likely to be increasing pressure on the Age Pension into the future.

At Crothers & Associates, we understand the complexities of the Age Pension system and the eligibility requirements for pension entitlements. We can help you to navigate the system and determine whether you may be eligible to receive any entitlements to supplement your retirement income.

We do this as part of our comprehensive retirement planning process, so you’ll have a clear picture of where your retirement income is coming from when you retire.

We also understand that many people struggle with Centrelink and its often onerous and cumbersome processes, so as part of our service we take care of all the paperwork and liaison with Centrelink on our client’s behalf. Many of our clients have come to appreciate this service as alleviates them of the burden of dealing with Centrelink and allows them more time to enjoy those things that are really important to them.

Retirement Advice

The lead up to retirement can be an exciting time for many people as they start making plans for the future beyond their working careers. For others, it can be a time of trepidation as they contemplate whether they will have enough money to last as long as they do.

Regardless of your particular situation, the key to a successful retirement is careful planning. At Crothers & Associates we’re retirement planning professionals and specialise in helping ordinary working people to plan for, and ultimately enjoy, a secure financial future.

Whether you’re five or ten years away from retiring, or if it’s still a distant destination on the horizon, we can help you to work out your finances and develop a strategy that’s designed to make your vision of retirement become a reality. Even if you feel you may have left it a little too late, we can assess your circumstances, current and foreseeable commitments and obligations, and develop a strategy that’s tailor-made for you.

Our approach involves a detailed analysis of your living expenses, financial resources and the development of investment strategies that are designed to accommodate your lifestyle requirements now and into the future as your needs change. It’s a service that can make a considerable difference to the quality of life you ultimately enjoy when you decide to leave the workforce and hang up your slate for good.
